FOR MENOPAUSE

EMSELLA FOR MENOPAUSE

As we age and progress into perimenopause, our body goes through several changes. Peri/menopause symptoms like hot flushes, night sweats and body aches are talked about openly.

However, one of the lesser known (or talked about) symptoms of perimenopause (and post-menopause) relates to the pelvic floor.

During perimenopause, your oestrogen production dramatically drops.

Oestrogen is produced in the ovaries and is the hormone that helps keep our muscles strong and flexible, this drop in oestrogen influences all the muscles in our body.

But when looking at the pelvic floor specifically, this drastic decrease results in the tissues of the vagina, vulva, urethra and pelvic floor musculature to become ‘drop’ or become thinner and less plump and flexible.

Some symptoms can include:

·    Vaginal dryness

·    Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

·    Stress and Urge incontinence

·    Nocturia (increase amount of bathroom trips overnight)

·    Pelvic Organ Prolapse (Sagging down of organs – uterus, bladder or bowel)

·    Feeling of heaviness or bulging

·    Lack of sex drive

·    Struggle to orgasm/Weak orgasm

·    Pain with penetrative sex

·    Faecal incontinence

Testosterone is also hormone also produced in the ovaries, and as the small amount of testosterone woman produce begins to decrease, the ability to maintain and build muscle also becomes much more difficult.

Sometime during perimenopause and post menopause the base of the bladder becomes less elastic and therefore has more difficulty in stretching. As the bladder fills with urine, this loss of stretch may irritate the bladder muscle causing it to be ‘overactive’.

An ‘overactive bladder’ will cause you to pass urine more frequently. Combined with weak pelvic floor muscles this makes it much more difficult to hold on or put off going to the toilet to pass urine.

The good news is that GVBR can help!

Treatment with GVBR is non-invasive and the results can be quick. The FDA & TGA approved Emsella chair uses HIFEM® (High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Energy) to target the deepest layers of your pelvic floor, inducing 11,200 supramaximal contractions in every 28-minute session. These contractions are intense and are delivered safely, painlessly by a health professional - all while you’re relaxed and full-clothed on the chair.

Sexual health and wellbeing during

per-menopause & menopause

Nearly a quarter of menopausal and post-menopausal women said they did not find sex pleasant, and more than half of these women said they were worried about this fact. Not only does sex itself often become difficult, but also the loss of tissue elasticity, muscle tone and blood flow to the area can lead to a reduction or decrease in the sensation of the clitoris and vagina, making sexual pleasure and reaching orgasm increasingly difficult.

EMSELLA has a proven ability to strengthen the pelvic muscles, which can also enable patients to reach orgasm more easily, experience stronger orgasms and have an increased sensation, which leads to a positive effect on sexual well-being and intimate relationships.

Emsella is a ‘Walk in Walk Out’ completely non-invasive treatment with no down time.

How does Emsella work?

The BTL Emsella uses High Intensity Focused Electro-Magnetic (HIFEM®) energy waves to build muscle and increase blood flow in the pelvic floor and perineal area, to target the pelvic floor muscles and muscles in the vagina and vaginal canal. This causes the muscles in the area to contract and relax, giving them a real workout. The treatment also triggers the production of new fibroblasts and collagen in the area, helping to make the tissues of the vagina, labia and clitoris more sensitive, and heightening sexual sensation.

For women, this process helps to create a tighter vaginal canal, increases lubrication, and improves sensation of the vaginal tissues, including the clitoris and vaginal opening, to increase the sexual pleasure you feel, give your sex drive a boost and make it easier to reach orgasm. It also improves the strength and ease of orgasm, to help make sex more pleasurable and give you back confidence and happiness in your sexuality.

For most patients, a series of six treatments – 2 per week for 3 weeks – is recommended and clinical research shows a significant improvement in 95% of all patients and 85% of women say it improves their intimate satisfaction. The research shows the results peak 3-months following your final treatment.

  • What to expect after Exion Clear RF:
Feeling of warmth – the treated area may be extremely warm for 1-2 hours after the treatment. Warmth may continue for 24 hours after the treatment. Cold compresses may provide comfort during this time. Redness (Erythema) – redness is normal and expected. Redness generally increases in intensity for the first few days after treatment with day 3 usually being the most intense. Redness can persist for up to 7 days depending on the intensity used for your treatment. Use a gentle cleanser and keep your skin moisturised and out of the sun which allows your skin time to heal and limit further stress on your skin. With CLEAR RF - microscopic epidermal debris (brownish flecks) will appear on the 2nd or 3rd day after treatment these tiny dark spots and bronzed appearance to the treated skin are part of the healing process where treated tissue is working its way out of the body as new fresh skin is regenerated. During this time, your skin will be very dry and feel like sandpaper. Keep your skin well moisturised to support the healing and recovery process. DO NOT pick at your skin. Avoid scratching and itching, as scarring and pigmentation complications can occur.
  • Does EXION Clear RF hurt?
Similar to our EXION RF microneedling treatment, Clear RF is not uncomfortable, but can be a bit “spicy”.  By using AI (artificial intelligence) the system is designed to only pierce the skin as deep as necessary to achieve your goal.  Some patients do opt for our numbing cream which is offered at no additional cost.
  • How long after my other skin treatments do have to wait before I can get Exion RF?
If you have received Neurotoxin, collagen, fat injections, or other injectable bio-materials in the treated area, Exion RF treatments can only be performed three months after the injection.
  • What to expect and how many sessions will I need?
Quick treatments sessions typically last 20 to 30 minutes, making it easy to fit into a busy schedule. Long lasting results. With a series of treatments, you say progressive improvements in skin clarity and texture. Many clients notice an improvement in their skins clarity and texture after just one session, but optimal results are typically seen after a series of three to six sessions, depending on your skin concerns. The results are long lasting with ongoing improvements in skin tone texture and overall health
  • How does EXION RF needling work?
Prior to EXION Fractional RF treatment, a topical anaesthetic cream is applied to minimise any discomfort.  A neutral electrode is applied to the skin, usually on your back, as required for the monopolar radiofrequency. The topical anaesthetic is removed once it has sufficiently numbed the treatment area and the RF needling treatment is then performed and is comfortable in most areas. At the conclusion of the treatment, the skin will have mild to moderate erythema (redness of the skin) and some mild swelling. These are normal and expected outcomes which settle shortly after treatment and resolve over the following 1–3 days. Pinpoint bleeding may also occur during treatment, but this will be usually resolved before the conclusion of the appointment.  The skin may feel warm and tight, similar to sunburn and this will resolve within 24 to 48hrs hours post-treatment. Social downtime in most cases in less than 48 hours with a full recovery and normal skin care can resume after 10-14 days.
  • How Many Treatments Are Required?
There can be variation between each individual and the number of sessions they require to achieve their desired results. Generally, we recommend a minimum of 3 EXION RF microneedling sessions spaced 4- 6 weeks apart -based on the individual needs and skin condition. You will begin to see the results at the 8 week mark. Positive effects can be seen immediately post-treatment due to the lifting and tightening from the temporary collagen shrinkage, lasting approximately 1 week. The temporary collagen shrinkage is then replaced by collagen tightening associated with the reparative and remodelling phases of wound healing.  From here you will experience continued improvement in the treated area between 3 to 6 months or longer post-treatment. As the natural ageing process continues, we recommend annual maintenance sessions following the conclusion of your initial course of treatment. The effect of the treatment can last several years, depending on each individual’s collagen regeneration and remodelling time.
  • How long does EXION RF needling treatment take?
The overall skin rejuvenation process of RF microneedling takes approximately 45-60 minutes to complete. The exact time typically relies on the size of the area and the exact skin condition being treated.
  • What is the difference between microneedling and RF microneedling?
Radiofrequency microneedling and traditional microneedling are both forms of collagen induction therapy designed to lift, tighten, and rejuvenate the skin, and treat acne scars. As the name suggests, radiofrequency microneedling incorporates the delivery of radiofrequency energy into the skin which reduces the time required to see results. Whilst traditional microneedling remains an effective treatment, the EXION Fractional RF provides a superior result by combining two treatments in 1. Some advantages of microneedling with EXION RF over traditional skin needling include: Radiofrequency needling treats deeper in the dermis, up to 8mm if using EXION Fractional RF Extended Mode. Hybrid treatment combining RF and collagen induction therapy AI-controlled energy delivery ensures the appropriate depth and intensity to suit each individual’s requirements With both non-insulated or insulated microneedle options, the practitioner is able to tailor the treatment to each patient
  • How long after my other skin treatments do have to wait before I can get Exion RF?
If you have received Neurotoxin, collagen, fat injections, or other injectable bio-materials or chemical peels in the treated area, Exion RF treatments can only be performed three months after the procedure has been completed.
  • What are the risks and side effects of RF needling?
There are few potential risks and side effects associated with RF microneedling. The skin generally tolerates the radiofrequency and microneedles used in the EXION RF microneedling device, but redness is to be typically expected during and after treatment. Other side effects that may be encountered include: Pinpoint bleeding Slight bruising Swelling Itching Dryness Scaling A mild acne flare-up A cold sore breakout Some patients may experience mild crusting of the skin post-treatment. These will dry on the skin and slowly resolve, which can take up to 2 weeks in some cases. These are not to be picked or scratched off as this may encourage scarring and pigmentary changes.
  • How much does RF needling cost?
The cost of EXION RF needling typically depends on factors such as the size of the treatment area, the extent of skin conditions to be treated, and how many sessions are required for optimal results. Costing will be provided during your free consultation appointment. ALSO SEE OUR PRICING PAGE
  • How Much Is Exion Face?
The price for treatment depends on the specific areas being treated, and a quote tailored to your specific requirements will be provided in your initial consultation. The cost for a thorough consultation can be found on our pricing page. Package of 6 purchased up front attract a 10% discount. Afterpay, Zip pay and TLC payment plans available
  • How Long Does Exion Face Last?
Results following the initial course of 4-6 treatments can last up to 12 months. However it must be noted that treatment does not stop the natural ageing process, and results can vary from person to person. For optimal results we recommend a course of 4-6 treatments performed 1-2 week apart, followed by 6 or 12 month maintenance Exion treatments.
  • Does Exion Face Hurt?
A warm sensation can be felt as the radiofrequency and targeted ultrasound delivers energy into the skin to stimulate the production of hyaluronic acid. Use of ultrasound gel reduces the amount of heat felt and any discomfort from this non-invasive treatment. It is a very well tolerated treatment. No anaesthetic creams are required.

Results and patient experience may vary. As with any medical procedure, ask your doctor if the procedure is right for you.
