FOR MENOPAUSE

EMSELLA FOR MENOPAUSE

As we age and progress into perimenopause, our body goes through several changes. Peri/menopause symptoms like hot flushes, night sweats and body aches are talked about openly.

However, one of the lesser known (or talked about) symptoms of perimenopause (and post-menopause) relates to the pelvic floor.

During perimenopause, your oestrogen production dramatically drops.

Oestrogen is produced in the ovaries and is the hormone that helps keep our muscles strong and flexible, this drop in oestrogen influences all the muscles in our body.

But when looking at the pelvic floor specifically, this drastic decrease results in the tissues of the vagina, vulva, urethra and pelvic floor musculature to become ‘drop’ or become thinner and less plump and flexible.

Some symptoms can include:

·    Vaginal dryness

·    Urinary tract infections (UTIs)

·    Stress and Urge incontinence

·    Nocturia (increase amount of bathroom trips overnight)

·    Pelvic Organ Prolapse (Sagging down of organs – uterus, bladder or bowel)

·    Feeling of heaviness or bulging

·    Lack of sex drive

·    Struggle to orgasm/Weak orgasm

·    Pain with penetrative sex

·    Faecal incontinence

Testosterone is also hormone also produced in the ovaries, and as the small amount of testosterone woman produce begins to decrease, the ability to maintain and build muscle also becomes much more difficult.

Sometime during perimenopause and post menopause the base of the bladder becomes less elastic and therefore has more difficulty in stretching. As the bladder fills with urine, this loss of stretch may irritate the bladder muscle causing it to be ‘overactive’.

An ‘overactive bladder’ will cause you to pass urine more frequently. Combined with weak pelvic floor muscles this makes it much more difficult to hold on or put off going to the toilet to pass urine.

The good news is that GVBR can help!

Treatment with GVBR is non-invasive and the results can be quick. The FDA & TGA approved Emsella chair uses HIFEM® (High Intensity Focused Electromagnetic Energy) to target the deepest layers of your pelvic floor, inducing 11,200 supramaximal contractions in every 28-minute session. These contractions are intense and are delivered safely, painlessly by a health professional - all while you’re relaxed and full-clothed on the chair.

Sexual health and wellbeing during

per-menopause & menopause

Nearly a quarter of menopausal and post-menopausal women said they did not find sex pleasant, and more than half of these women said they were worried about this fact. Not only does sex itself often become difficult, but also the loss of tissue elasticity, muscle tone and blood flow to the area can lead to a reduction or decrease in the sensation of the clitoris and vagina, making sexual pleasure and reaching orgasm increasingly difficult.

EMSELLA has a proven ability to strengthen the pelvic muscles, which can also enable patients to reach orgasm more easily, experience stronger orgasms and have an increased sensation, which leads to a positive effect on sexual well-being and intimate relationships.

Emsella is a ‘Walk in Walk Out’ completely non-invasive treatment with no down time.

How does Emsella work?

The BTL Emsella uses High Intensity Focused Electro-Magnetic (HIFEM®) energy waves to build muscle and increase blood flow in the pelvic floor and perineal area, to target the pelvic floor muscles and muscles in the vagina and vaginal canal. This causes the muscles in the area to contract and relax, giving them a real workout. The treatment also triggers the production of new fibroblasts and collagen in the area, helping to make the tissues of the vagina, labia and clitoris more sensitive, and heightening sexual sensation.

For women, this process helps to create a tighter vaginal canal, increases lubrication, and improves sensation of the vaginal tissues, including the clitoris and vaginal opening, to increase the sexual pleasure you feel, give your sex drive a boost and make it easier to reach orgasm. It also improves the strength and ease of orgasm, to help make sex more pleasurable and give you back confidence and happiness in your sexuality.

For most patients, a series of six treatments – 2 per week for 3 weeks – is recommended and clinical research shows a significant improvement in 95% of all patients and 85% of women say it improves their intimate satisfaction. The research shows the results peak 3-months following your final treatment.
